My Local Start, LLC (“My Local Start,” “we,” “us”) is a small SEO, website design, and AI optimization company based in Clyde, North Carolina. This policy explains what information we collect when you visit mylocalstart.com or contact us, how we use it, and the choices you have.
The short version: we collect only what we need to answer you and run our website. We don’t sell your personal information, and we never will.

Information you give us
When you fill out a form on our site (like a contact form or a request for a free SEO report or Google Business Profile review), call us, email us or book a time on our calendar, you may share:
- Your name, email address and phone number
- Your business name, website address and location
- Anything else you choose to tell us in your message
Information collected automatically
Like most websites, ours automatically collects some technical information when you visit, such as your browser and device type, the pages you view, how you found our site and your general location (city or region, not your street address). We collect this through cookies and analytics tools, described below.
How we use your information
We use your information to:
- Respond to your questions and requests
- Prepare the free reviews, reports or proposals you ask for
- Provide and manage services if you become a client
- Understand how people find and use our website, so we can improve it
- Keep our website secure and prevent spam or abuse
We don’t send newsletters today. If we start sending email updates, we’ll only email people who sign up for them, and every email will include an easy way to unsubscribe.
Who we share it with
We don’t sell or rent your personal information. We share it only in these situations:
- Service providers that help us run our website and business, such as Google, which provides our analytics tools, and our scheduling tool. They can use your information only to provide their services to us.
- The law. If we’re legally required to, for example by a subpoena or court order, or to protect our rights or someone’s safety.
- A business change. If My Local Start is ever sold or merged, your information may transfer to the new owner, who would have to honor this policy.
We host our own website. When you submit a form, your entry is stored securely in our website’s database, which only our team can access.
Cookies and analytics
Cookies are small files your browser stores to remember things about your visit. We use them to keep our site working and to understand how visitors use it.
We use Google Analytics to see things like which pages are popular and how people find our site. Google Analytics uses cookies and gives us summary reports, not your name. We also use Google Search Console, which shows us how our site appears in Google search results, such as which searches lead people to us. It reports totals, not information about individual visitors, and doesn’t place cookies on your browser.
You can also block or delete cookies in your browser settings. Our site will still work, though a few features might not.
We don’t use retargeting or ad-tracking pixels, so we don’t follow you around the internet with ads. If we run Google Ads in the future and use Google’s tools to measure which ads lead to visits, we’ll update this policy to say so.
If you’re a client
To do our work, we may need access to your website, Google Business Profile, analytics or other accounts. We use that access only to provide the services you’ve hired us for, and you can remove it at any time.
We work on the public-facing side of your business. We don’t ask for, and don’t want, confidential information like legal case details, medical records or customer payment information. We never put private client information into AI tools. (Our AI policy explains exactly how we do and don’t use AI.)
How long we keep information
We keep your information only as long as we need it for the reasons above, such as answering your inquiry, serving you as a client, or meeting legal, tax and accounting requirements. After that, we delete it or keep it in a form that no longer identifies you.
How we protect it
We use reasonable safeguards to protect your information, including secure (HTTPS) connections on our website and limited access to the accounts that hold it. No website or email system is 100% secure, so we can’t promise perfect security, but we take it seriously.
Your choices
You can ask us to:
- Tell you what personal information we have about you
- Correct anything that’s wrong
- Delete your information, unless we need to keep it for legal or business records
Just contact us. Depending on where you live, your state’s laws may give you additional rights, and we’ll honor them.
Children’s privacy
Our website is for businesses and isn’t directed to children under 13. We don’t knowingly collect information from children. If you believe a child has sent us personal information, contact us and we’ll delete it.
Links to other websites
Our site links to other websites, like client sites, Google and our social profiles. We’re not responsible for their privacy practices, so check their policies too.
Changes to this policy
If we update this policy, we’ll change the effective date at the top of this page. If we make a big change in how we use your information, we’ll make it clear on our site.
